Like so many couples these days, our story starts with an online conversation about the bonus content on the Lord of the Rings Extended Edition DVDs.* From there it moved on to baking, Taskmaster, the Great North Woods, and sea shanties.

Our first date was at what has become our local watering hole. Mike walked in wearing a Jurassic Park shirt with a dinosaur print button-up over it. Kaki obviously was charmed before he spoke. The bar was playing Top Gun on the TVs and we talked so much we made it through 3 showings of the movie until we realized we should probably let the staff close up for the night.

And that was it. Anastasia was happy to adopt Mike as her Bonus Human and soon took over all the comfortable places in his apartment. Kaki moved in after.

After all the fun and joy and tears of the past few years together, we’re excited to formally tie the knot with our family and friends around us.

*Are you saying most people don't start conversations with prospective partners this way? Weird.
